text in England. We selected parts of
it that were relevant to our project
and had them translated into Japanese
and printed up as part of our educational
project. |

Our
experimental rethatching was misunderstood
by some conservative (and young, surprisingly)
Japanese thatchers as an all-out attack
on the traditional way of thatching
in Japan. We wrote and distributed this
explanation after the project was finished.
